Janel Raihl: Vibrant Dimensions

Janel’s artistic journey began in the serene Pacific North West, where the lush forests, rugged coastlines, and shifting light on the water ignited her creativity. This connection to nature laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for fine art.

After relocating to Nevada, she became a prominent figure in the state’s evolving art scene. Her sculptures and installations have been showcased across Las Vegas, including a major installation at The Westgate Hotel and Casino, as well as exhibitions with the Las Vegas Bonsai Society and the Victoria’s Voice Foundation. She is the official artist for the Pahrump Valley Days Festival, the VinoJazz Foundation, City Cast speaker 2024 and serves as featured artist for the celebrated Picnic in the Alley festival in 2024 and 2025.

Inspired by her mother’s work as an art teacher and a seamstress, Janel fuses natural forms with the spirit of couture. This influence shapes her dimensional canvas work and inspired her to launch Art Meets Fashion, a series of pop-up events at designer stores such as Marciano by Guess.

Her work has been featured at the Conrad West Gallery, the Main Arts District (MAD) gallery and ArtWavy in Downtown Las Vegas, and in exhibitions from Brooklyn to St. Louis. Pieces from her Janel Raihl Fine Art Collection have been sold across the United States as well as internationally throughout Europe and the Middle East.

From 2018–2025, Janel served as an official Art Ambassador for Coprabel, representing the company in the United States while also participating in special events in Belgium and the United Arab Emirates. Her piece Illumination was the inaugural work commissioned for Coprabel’s headquarters in Wavre, Belgium, where it remains on permanent display. She also collaborates with AVL Metal Powders in Kortrijk, Belgium whose innovative pigments bring depth and dimension to her work. In addition, Janel is sponsored by Neptune Coatings (USA/Belgium), which provides eco-friendly, saltwater-powered coatings for her outdoor installations.

Through her dedication and vision, Janel has carved out a career that bridges natural inspiration, fashion innovation, and international artistry. Her vibrant use of color breathes energy and vitality into her art, captivating viewers with every piece.

My work lives in the unexpected. I create with materials that have already had a life—fragments of events, overlooked objects that carry memory. These remnants become my palette, their histories infused into each piece. Through this process, I build a personal language of pop art, reimagining what these materials can become and questioning how we assign value to the discarded.

At the core of my practice is the belief that art can speak in ways language cannot. It is a vehicle for addressing politics, culture, and personal truths—a way to amplify voices that often go unheard. My work allows me to express what I feel is important to society, whether directly or with subtlety, turning quiet commentary into reflection.

Every piece begins with sound. Each artwork has a song that carries the energy I want to embed within it. Music guides my gestures and decisions, shaping the emotional resonance of the work. It is a ritual of immersion, where rhythm and environment lead me deeper into the idea.

I am inspired by art history, yet I question it by asking: what would the greats create if they were alive today, painting with our colors, our materials, our symbols? My practice pays homage to the past while also challenging the erosion of fine arts in our schools and culture.

Artist Statement

Ultimately, my art is an invitation to feel.

Abstract works stir memory and emotion, while sculptural pieces invite viewers to embrace all forms of beauty and recognize themselves in every shape.
